With similar features to the Avaya 9608 Global ICON, the Avaya 9608 includes 24 programmable buttons with wording underneath in order to provide further guidance.
The Avaya 9608 phone is compatible with:
– H.323 version supported by Avaya Communication Manager 3.1.4 or later.
– SIP version supported by Avaya Communication Manager 6.0 with Avaya Aura Session Manager 6.0 or Avaya Midsize Business Template 5.2.1.
– IP Office 7.0.36 or higher only on IP500 or IP500 V2 control units.
Features include softkeys for everyday functions such as transfer, conference and forwarding, plus quick access to the corporate directory, as well as eight dual-colour Red/Green LED buttons. A secondary Gigabit Ethernet port provides a connection for a PC, and with the addition of up to three 12 or 24 button Expansion Modules, this allows high-speed call handling.
The Avaya 9608 has a 3.2 x 2.2-inch monochrome display screen, three pages of eight buttons with dual LEDs, four soft keys and a four-way navigation cluster. As well as dual message-waiting indicators, there is a built-in full duplex speakerphone and a built-in headset interface.
Accommodating advanced unified communications solutions, the Avaya 9608 IP supports Session Initiation Protocol (SIP)-based infrastructure on the Avaya Aura platform. In addition, the Power-over-Ethernet Class 1 design with “sleep mode” allows for reduced energy consumption and lower costs.
With wideband audio codec in both the handset and the headset, the 9608 delivers high definition audio and crystal clear calls. It can be powered via 802.3af PoE (Class 1) or local PoE injector.
